Landlines and Watermarks is a major new arts programme for Calderdale, exploring a place and a people shaped by water. Produced by 509 Arts , it will include a community folk opera, a valley-wide arts programme and a mass gathering - the People’s Fair at the end of September at The Piece Hall Landlines & Watermarks is funded by Calderdale Council, Community Foundation for Calderdale and Arts Council England Explore www.landlinesandwatermarks.org.uk to find out our plans and how you can get involved. On January 31st 2014 Robert Marchand, a 102-year-old Frenchman, broke his own kilometre-per-hour record in the over-100 category. He clocked up 26.927 km, improving on his previous record by 2.5 km
